Calculator methodology
Cash vs Car Finance vs Offset Calculator: Methodology
The calculator shows cash remaining after a cash purchase or finance deposit, estimates standalone car-finance cost, and shows a simple mortgage-offset opportunity-cost sensitivity.
Calculation approach
- Car finance uses standard amortisation over the entered term.
- Offset opportunity cost uses the entered mortgage rate and horizon as a transparent sensitivity.
- It does not model tax, depreciation or vehicle resale value.
What the calculator deliberately does not decide
The calculator does not select a lender, predict approval, expose lender policy or provide personal financial or tax advice. It is a transparent comparison tool so you can test structure before seeking a quote.
